“SILENCE”

That morning, I had sketched two does on a canvas.  Looking up I saw a smattering of snowflakes thru my window in the studio.  As they got thicker and started sticking to the pine needles I reached for my paints.  For the next 6 hours I painted that wondrous snowy scene as it evolved into a Christmas card. It was delightful sitting in a heated room painting this gorgeous snowy scene.  The temperature was hovering around 28 degrees outside.   The next day I finished up the deer and put in a few highlights.

Recently moving to Overgaard, Az.  I have had to dig out my “sweater” wardrobe.  It is chilly up here.  But the scenery of Torrey pines, pinion pines shrubs and the abundance of wildlife more than make up for the addition of 3 layers of clothing. Luckily, this time I was able to stay indoors for this delightful snowy painting.
